During the survey, the working team conducted field investigations and recorded the current conditions of heritage sites within the geopark. The team inspected and cross-checked a number of locations belonging to the existing 22 clusters of heritage sites that showed signs of change or were affected by natural factors and human activities. The survey focused on verifying the locations and distribution boundaries of each heritage site and cluster, while documenting geological, geomorphological, landscape, and cave characteristics, associated cultural values, as well as the current status of conservation, management, and utilization.

In addition, the survey team collected coordinate data, photographs, and descriptions of current conditions; assessed factors affecting heritage values; and identified sensitive areas or locations at risk of degradation. The team also worked with local authorities and communities to gather additional information on place names, historical land use, current spatial utilization, and heritage protection activities.

The survey also focused on investigating, verifying, and updating information in the expanded area of the Non Nuoc Cao Bang UNESCO Global Geopark. The results will provide a foundation for proposing heritage protection zoning plans, preparing dossiers for six new heritage clusters, and integrating them into the geopark's mapping system and database. At the same time, information on existing heritage clusters will be supplemented and updated.

The survey results provide an important foundation for the management, conservation, and promotion of geological heritage values, contributing to the completion of dossiers and databases, and improving the effectiveness of management of the Non Nuoc Cao Bang UNESCO Global Geopark in accordance with the criteria of the UNESCO Global Geoparks Network.
