The survey focused on assessing and selecting heritage sites, stopover points, and potential tourism partners along Experience Route No. 5, which links the Non Nuoc Cao Bang UNESCO Global Geopark in Cao Bang Province with the Dong Van Karst Plateau UNESCO Global Geopark in Tuyen Quang Province.
During the survey, the delegation visited Bo Ngam Cave, Nung Tri Cao Temple, and Na Tenh Pass (Can Yen Commune); the Stone Forest, Dong Mu post, Thom Lom Lake, and Khau Coc Cha Pass (Xuan Truong Commune); the Ban Phuong viewpoint (Khanh Xuan Commune); the Nong Family Residence and the proposed tourism partner Le Ngan Restaurant (Bao Lac Commune); and the Khuoi Vin viewpoint (Ly Bon Commune). In addition, the delegation explored several new stopover locations to diversify visitor experiences.

At each site, the delegation assessed the current status of tourism resources, infrastructure, visitor reception capacity, transport connectivity, service quality, and the potential for tourism product development. The survey results will serve as a basis for finalizing the tourism route, selecting appropriate attractions, stopover points, and partner establishments, thereby enhancing the quality of tourism products within the geopark.

The survey forms part of the implementation of a project to research and develop tourism programs linking UNESCO Global Geoparks. Based on the survey findings, the Management Board of the Non Nuoc Cao Bang Geopark will continue working closely with the Management Boards of the Lang Son Geopark and the Dong Van Karst Plateau UNESCO Global Geopark to finalize the itinerary, destinations, tourism products, and services. The initiative aims to establish distinctive inter-geopark tourism programs that promote the values of geological heritage, cultural heritage, and natural landscapes, while strengthening regional cooperation and fostering sustainable tourism development.
