The workshop was attended by representatives of the People's Committees of Quang Uyen, Tra Linh, Hanh Phuc, and Dam Thuy communes, the Cao Bang Tourism Association, households engaged in tourism activities at traditional craft villages and community-based tourism sites within the geopark, as well as partners of the Non Nuoc Cao Bang UNESCO Global Geopark.

The training programme provided participants with knowledge on sustainable community-based tourism development, including the principles and standards of community tourism, benefit-sharing mechanisms, and the responsibilities of local communities in conserving and promoting heritage values. Participants were also introduced to business registration requirements, the organization of community-based tourism activities, and the important role of community interpreters in promoting destinations and enhancing visitors' experiences.

In addition, the programme equipped participants with essential practical skills for welcoming and guiding visitors, including communication and hospitality skills, visitor reception and problem-solving, interpretation planning, storytelling techniques, and presenting local culture. Participants also learned about responsible tourism practices, environmental protection, and waste reduction in tourism activities.

They exchanged ideas on developing distinctive identities for individual destinations and designing unique tourism products and experiences to enhance the attractiveness and competitiveness of local attractions.

During the workshop, participants worked together to prepare interpretation presentations, practise introducing heritage sites, and strengthen their skills in visitor reception, tour guiding, service organization, and handling practical situations that may arise during tourism activities. These hands-on sessions enabled participants to apply newly acquired knowledge in practice, improve their interpretation and guiding skills, and gain a deeper understanding of the community's role in communicating heritage values and promoting local destinations.
